Lakes and watercourses

Year round the nearby lakes are well worth a visit. Lursjön, which was crowned Scania’s nicest bathing lake, is on a comfortable biking distance from the center. Here there is a beach with sand, jetty, camping with a restaurant and a mini-golf course as well as excellent fishing opportunities. Parts of the beach are officially for dog bathing, so your four-legged friend is of course welcome as well. When it gets freezing cold during winter, ice-skating entices - there are not many things that beats coffee with cheese sandwiches in the blazing wintersun by Lursjön!
Even closer to the center is Lillasjön which attracts anglers from near and far. The ultimate goal for them is to get “Suggan” on the hook, a gigantic carp which was photographed together with numerous anglers to then be released in the water again. But you don’t have to be an angler to appreciate the beautiful hiking trail circling the lake, which might be at its most beautiful when the white anemones blossom during spring.
Other easily accessible lakes in the vicinity are Tydingesjön to the east, and Skärsjön and Ottarpssjön to the south.
Springs are common and the strongest flowing spring is Kerri killa south of Rävninge, or “Killan” a few kilometers north of the church.
