Homestead park

Located beautifully by Lillasjön is the scenic homestead park of Hästveda which is, to a very high degree, an alive museum. During the summer there is a hostel here and during that time you or your guest have got the opportunity to spend a night in a 1700th century farm or a station master cabin. In the park there are several cultural-historical and interesting buildings that were moved here to be preserved. Here you can experience how people lived, went to school and worked ever since the 1600th century and forward. The park has also got an outdoor stage which is used for concerts and arrangements.

In the museum of carriages is older agricultural equipment and carriages. There are also parts of Axel Helm’s carpentry workshop, and you can also see how electric installations used to look like. On the second floor is an exhibition of the railway in Hästveda and an exhibition of books, textiles, linen preparation and laundry.
If you head up another case of stairs, cooperage and other crafts are displayed, as well as how a store could look like during your great grandmother’s time. The daughter of Hästveda, Sonja Stjernquist has also got a section where many of her scene clothing from her 50 years of theatre life are shown.
