Life in Hästveda is comfortable. You can easily find parking and you seldom have to queue. The distances are as a rule short and inviting for a ride on the bike or a nice walk. Among the natural gathering points is ICA Nära Viltspecialisten (grocery store), in the center of the village, worth mentioning. It also hosts the mail service and pharmacy service. At Christensens Bygg & Foder (Construction & Feed) is everything related to feed for animals and material for construction, you can also find flowers and garden items. The library and skateboard ramp you can find by the school. 
During the summers many want to enjoy the fantastic sunset by Lursjön at the camping’s outdoor seating for the restaurant that has an extensive menu. In the village there are two pizzerias, one of them also has asian food, and one lunch restaurant. Surrounding the village are several farm shops. Special events and culture activities are usually advertised at the gas station which most pass by to read while the car fills up. 

Municipal support, schooling and care is gathered close to the center. Hästveda school has room for 300 students covering primary (age 6-9), middle (age 10-12) and high school (age 13-15). In connection to the school is the library and a short distance from there is the well appreciated elderly home Solgården. In Hästveda there is also a care branch with a child care center and you can choose if you want private or municipal child care. 
Several sport arenas and gathering halls are available, everything from a gym, sport hall and boule course to tennis courses, soccer fields and one of Sweden’s finest folk race tracks. Just a few kilometers south of Hästveda there is also a gun shooting range. 
If you need a handyman, a car mechanic or any other professional service there is help to be found at a close distance. Entrepreneurship is extensive and many industries are represented.
