The Lursjö trail
The trail by Lursjön offers a varied hike through beech forest, mixed forest and open agricultural landscape. The trail is 13 kilometers long in total and there are two different starting points. One of the starting points is the parking spot by Lurskön, the other one starts by Piparpsgården north of Lursjön.
After approximately half of the trail is a rest spot with wind protection by the beach of Lursjön. All along the trail you have a chance to encounter, amongst others, nesting seabirds, deer and moose. During spring and early summer the bird song can almost be earsplitting. There are several interesting cultural-historical places, you can read about these on the distinct information boards, along the trail.
The Lursjö trail was founded and opened in autumn 2014. The initiative behind it was Hästveda’s interest foundation and Farstorp’s village team who with the help of Leader-support worked on the trail. Nowadays, Hässleholm’s municipality is responsible for the management of the trail.
The right of public access makes it possible for us all to almost limitlessly move about the forest and land. But for this responsibility and good judgement is needed. We must not harm nature and animal life, and we must show regard to landowners and other people out in nature. The right of public access can be summarized by the words “Inte störa – inte förstöra”. (Don’t disturb – don’t destroy.)
