Lillasjön (Small Lake)
Encircling Lillasjön is an about two and a half kilometer long floodlit trail. Along the trail is a place for barbequing with a table and benches, outdoor gym and a fenced in place where the dog can run loose. The area can be reached from all quarters, including the adjacent homestead park.
In the beginning of the 20th century there were three places for bathing by the lake, one for the ladies, one for the gentlemen and one for the priest. After having become overloaded by dirty water from sewer, as well as moss breaking upstream Kvarnbäcken, the lake was over fertilized, grew over and was afflicted with algal bloom.
This is why Lillasjön’s nature conservation organisation was founded in 1977 and in the beginning of the 1990s the northern part of the lake was renovated while the southern part became wetland.
Nowadays the area has a rich birdlife and the trail around the lake is popular and easily accessed. It is there, by the shore of Lillasjön, that the traditional celebration of walpurgis night occurs during the spring.
